Excited to see our friends, Rick and Kym, and Benji from Ebb & Float in Columbus, OH.

We want to share a little bit about this past weekend. Christy and I (Matt) attended the 3rd annual Rise Float Gathering in St. Louis, MO. At these gatherings we meet with float spa owners, experts, scientists and great minds from all over the US and sometimes other countries as well. It’s always great to reconnect with such a wise, intelligent and loving community and share ways on how we can improve our businesses so our clients continue to have the best experiences we can provide space for. These are some of the things I learned and was reminded of while at this year's conference:

It was such a pleasure to connect with Stephen Johnson. We are excited to visit him in Bellingham, WA, later this year.

1. As a float spa owner, it is important I take the time to continue my practice within the tanks, not only for me, but for you as well. It is so easy to lose track of self-care when you are so focused on providing it for others. So, this week I’m going to float every day so I can jump back into my practice and continue to search the depths of what the tank provides. I'm also planning on creating some packages for those who would like to practice floating daily, so be on the lookout.

2. Speaking of what the tank provides, other than its tremendous pain and stress relief benefits, and its enhancement of creativity and clarity, there is another benefit that’s seldom spoke about. The states of consciousness that occur while floating are important to explore. The various brainwaves have attributes to them that provide access to specific age ranges within our lives. Being able to access these states can allow someone to look into old patterns that no longer serve them, the roots of some of our subconscious baggage and emotional pain, and work to undo, or remove, these triggers and neural patterning. The tank provides a way to fix things at the fundamental level. The float community is working to develop a method that will help guide those who wish to practice this.

3. Having fun while you work is so important. It's not hard to fall into the robotic rut of getting things done and forget to have fun while doing so. This being said, we are planning our first movie night! We’ll keep you posted on the date as soon as possible. Meanwhile, be prepared for a projected movie, food, drinks and FUN people - our ‘tribe’. And, don't be surprised when you walk through our doors, only to be greeted by a Super Soaker 9000 water cannon!!! Just kidding, I would never do that....🤔....or would I?

In other exciting and related news, we had a chance to connect with Dr. Justin Feinstein, Ph.D., at the Laureate Institute for Brain Research in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He’s currently reviewing brain scans one of our clients had performed before and after completing eight consecutive weeks of utilizing flotation therapy to treat her traumatic brain injury by way of our Floating Free from Pain Program. The scans showed significant improvement and repair in several regions and we are excited to hear his professional analysis.

We’ve learned there is more and more research being done at several universities around the US. We’re currently looking into ways we can contribute to these efforts. If you or someone you know is interested in helping fund new research on the benefits of flotation therapy, please let us know.
